PERRY: HELLO , EVERYBODY!

exploding boy:
Hi Perry,
Great pleasure to have the opportunity to talk to you!
Is there something wrong in between the members of the group and is it the
reason why the tour 2004 was cancelled ?(In july 04 Robert
said: "see you later in the year...")
Thanks and hope to see you soon all together
Philou

P: THERE IS NOTHING WRONG - IT WAS ROBERT'S DECISION TO CANCEL THE TOUR, BUT IT'S
POSSIBLE THAT WE WILL PLAY IN EUROPE NEXT
YEAR.

Nobi:
Hello Perry !
It's great to have the opportunity to ask you questions !
Which album of The Cure do you like the most?
Thanks and hope to see you very soon in France !

P: IT'S HARD TO PICK A FAVOURITE ALBUM - I LIKE 'THE TOP' AND 'WISH' AND
'DISINTEGRATION' AND 'PORNOGRAPHY' AND 'FAITH'...!

Dr Zaïus:
Hi Perry!
What is your point of view about the importance of the part Ross Robinson play
in the making of the new album?

P: THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ROSS BROUGHT TO THE STUDIO WAS HIS
ENDLESS ENTHUSIASM AND ENERGY.

Charlotte_Sometimes:
Hi Perry!
There are probably songs which you like playing in concert more than others.
Which ones, or which album in general?
Thank you so much for accepting this interview. It's a great pleasure for all of
us to have you as a guest here!

P: I LIKE THE DARK SONGS...

Nikola:
hi perry!
what's the funniest thing that happened to you on stage?
thanx for being our guest of the month and thanx to be so sweet with the fans
after the gigs

P: ON THE CURIOSA TOUR THIS YEAR SOMETHING MADE SIMON LAUGH AND THAT STARTED ME
LAUGHING, WHICH MADE HIM LAUGH MORE. IN
THE END WE BOTH THOUGHT WE WOULD HAVE TO STOP PLAYING THE SONG. I CAN'T SAY WHAT
IT WAS THAT CAUSED IT...

The_cure:
Are the relations between members of the band still good? Do you still get
along?

P: YES, WE DO.

Zematou:
Hi Perry
What do you think about most of the time while you are playing on stage? You
always look so quiet and like you're lost into deep thoughts. I
think you add this enigmatic side to the band on stage. Come back soon!
Mathieu.

P: I SPEND A LOT OF TIME THINKING ABOUT WHAT I NEED TO DO NEXT, LIKE HITTING A
PEDAL, OR HOW TO STRIKE A NOTE IN A CERTAIN WAY,
BUT IT'S TRUE ALSO THAT I GET LOST IN A DREAM. MANY MEMORIES COME TO ME
UNEXPECTEDLY WHEN I PLAY...

hollowbody:
Hello Perry!
What is the album you listen to all the time these days?

P: BOTH THE INTERPOL ALBUMS

Le Clan Faure:
Hi Perry
Will you play "The Boy I Never Knew" during the next tour in France ? (Please ?)

P: THIS IS NOT UP TO ME - SORRY!

daniboun:
Hi Perry !
Could you please tell me the exact brand of Jason's drum ?
I also need you to call me back within 2 days Indeed, I am looking for a
guitarist so it's up to you man
Keep me posted on my email address
Regards,
Dani :p

P: JASON USES DRUM WORKSHOP DRUMS. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR GUITARIST.

smith greg:
Perry, what do you think about the new album?

P: I WOULD HAVE PICKED DIFFERENT TRACKS. WE RECORDED 20 SONGS-
THE CHOSEN TRACKS WERE 'INFLUENCED' BY GEFFEN.

Burn:
Perry, have you ever thought about doing a solo album, apart from the band?

P: I HAVE MANY STRANGE INSTRUMENTAL TRACKS, BUT I DON'T THINK I'LL BE RELEASING
THEM! MAYBE I WOULD COLLABORATE WITH
SOMEONE ELSE...?

Fist:
Hi Perry!
we don't know you very well..could you speak about your likes, dislikes...movies
you prefer, food ect...who's the funniest member of the
cure ??
kisses and see u soon in france

P: SIMON IS THE FUNNIEST MEMBER OF THE CURE. AS FAR AS MOVIES AND FOOD, ETC. -
ANYTHING WITH GOOD TASTE...

Iron S:
Hi and thanks for making a dream come true
The last album seems to push you (and the guitar) forward (at least on stage you
seem to more involved). Is it due to Robinson as it is the
case for Jason who plays better than ever? Or is it because your participated
more to the musical creation of the album than you used to in
the past?

P: THE SONGS OF THE THE NEW ALBUM ALLOW FOR MORE EXPRESSION OF ENERGY ON THE GUITAR
- THIS IS PERHAPS WHAT YOU SEE. AS FOR
JASON, HE SIMPLY PLAYS BETTER, AS YOU SAY.

Pedro:
Wasn't it hard at least for a while, to replace Porl Thompson, does it bother
you that people compare you to him, What do you think about
the people who do not like the presence of a more solo/impro guitar player, more
charismatic in his playing and his attitude on stage within
the Cure, like Porl was sometimes?

P: I THINK PORL IS ONE OF THE BEST GUITARISTS IN ENGLAND, I DON'T THINK I CAN BE
COMPARED TO HIM, I JUST REPLACED HIM. THE CURE IS
A BAND THAT ATTRACTS PEOPLE THROUGH THE MOOD OF ITS MUSIC, NOT SO NUCH A 'GUITAR
SOLO' BAND. IN THE WHOLE SET THIS YEAR,
I ONLY PLAYED ONE SONG WITH A SOLO (FTEOTDGS) AND TO BE HONEST, I FIND IT
UNCOMFORTABLE. IT'S NOT MY THING- I'M HAPPIER
MAKING NOISE.

Darkina:
Hello, Perry!!
I'm Elisabetta, one of the most faithful Cure fan in Italy!
You are a wonderful band and you are a very talented musician!
I don't have any questions right now! I just hope I will meet you in Rome for
the MTV Europe Music Awards on the 18th of November. I will
come to see you performing..
Keep up the good work.

P: THANK YOU - DID WE MEET?!!

BenBarrech:
Hi and thanks for all the good work you did with the cure.
What is your favorite Cure song?

P: FAITH

blissfully dead:
hiya Perry!
just wondering if The Cure are planning to do any UK tours?? I really hope so
because im yet to see you guys live!!
P.S if you do, do a UK tour it would be nice for you to come near surrey lol
(wishful thinking...)

P: I HOPE THAT WE WILL PLAY AT LEAST ONE SHOW IN THE UK NEXT YEAR
MAYBE A FESTIVAL..?

cureloverofcourse:
Hello Perry,
I was wondering how fans get backstage after shows LOL I have been a fan for a
long time and am probably the only one who has never
thanked you all in person, shaked a hand or gotten an autograph and I am feeling
left out LOL So how do those lucky people do it??
Also, my real question is, is it true that the band have a good time together,
have some fun and joke around? I read that somewhere and
would love to know its true.
It is so GREAT for you to share some of your time with us. The Cure rocks and I
love you all!!!!!!

P: IT'S A SHAME THAT THE SHY PEOPLE DON'T GET TO MEET THE BAND, I THINK YOU JUST
NEED TO BE BRAVE AND PERSISTENT! COME ALONG
AND SEE
WE ARE ALWAYS JOKING - IT'S TRUE!

the lovecats:
Hello Perry
Why do you always kind of stay in the background, why are you so quiet? I love
the sound you give to the Cure

P: IT'S IN MY NATURE, I SUPPOSE. I SHOULDN'T EVEN BE HERE REALLY. IT'S ALL AN
ACCIDENT THAT STARTED 20 YEARS AGO...

Curse:
Hi Perry !!! And thanx for all these wonderful years playing with The Cure !
Could u please tell us which is your favourite Cure video of all times ?
Thanx so much ! Hope to meet u someday !
Tony (Curse)

P: THE BEST VIDEO IS 'FRIDAY I'M IN LOVE' - SHOT IN ONE TAKE, AND GENUINE HAPPINESS
IS SO EVIDENT.

Mada:
Hi Perry !
What was for you the key song during the recording of the new album which got you to think : "What a big thing we are making right now !" ?
Looking forward to listening to the band next year !
Cheers

P: THE FIRST TIME ROBERT SANG 'LOST' - THAT WAS THE MOMENT.

Vincent:
Hi Perry !
First of all, congratulations for all your great work as a Cure member and thank
you for making us so happy !
Why B-Sides are less and less (never) played live ?
I would love to hear songs as "Harold & Joe" or "To The Sky" live one day...
could it be possible ?

P: I DON'T KNOW. MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE WE HAVE ABOUT 200 SONGS..?

romain the guest:
hi perry and thanks for giving a little time to people on this forum
What did you do before being a guitar player within the Cure? I saw you as a
roadie during the prayer tour in Fréjus. How does a roadie
become a member of the band?
Thanks and see you soon!

P: SEE ABOVE - A ROADIE BECOMES A MEMBER BY ACCIDENT.

Amulbu:
Hello Perry, thank U verry much to agree to do this intervieuw, it's very nice
of you
What 's your favourite rock band ?
Don't answer me The Cure lol

P: HMM, WHAT'S A 'ROCK BAND'? INTERPOL?

Washaki:
Hello Perry,
Happy to talk to you
which song is for you, the best one to open a cure concert? and the best one to
finish ?
thank you very much for everything.
Fred

P: OPEN WITH 'SHAKE DOG SHAKE', END WITH 'FAITH'

tony:
hello perry...
thx for your kindness with fans...
I bought a 6 string bass recently and I wonder what kinda amp do you use to play
live? do u think it sounds better on a bass amp or on
guitar one?
what tuning do u have on "if only tonight we could sleep....." i think you play
it perfectly well....i noticed you didn't play it as it was played
during the mtv unplugged....
merci encore....
see you soon

P: I PLAY MY 6 STRING THROUGH AN 'ORANGE' GUITAR AMP.
I'M AFRAID I DON'T REMEMBER THE TUNING FOR 'IF ONLY..' IT'S QUITE ODD, I'LL FIND IT AND LET YOU KNOW...

lucrate:
Do you choose yourself the instruments you use in concert or do you have
commercial constraints? I'm thinking about the Schecter guitars
and Orange amps that you've been using since the last album and which completely
changed your sound, and thus the sound of songs that
came out before 2004.
Thanks fo your answer!

P: ORANGE AMPS ARE GREAT. I HAVE A MARSHALL IN MY SET UP, AND WOULD LIKE A VOX AC30
IN THERE TOO. THE SCHECTERS ARE VERY
'ROCK' AND NEED SOME TONING DOWN UNLESS YOU WANT THAT REALLY HARD SOUND..

toodess:
Hi Perry,
just a personnal question, how do you spend your time between tour and recording
new material ? hobbies, trying to promote/produce
another artists ?( have you ever thought about other interesting band ? )
and thanxs again for answering our silly questions

P: I SLEEP A LOT. I PAINT PICTURES. I LIKE TO BE ALONE

lemulau:
Hi Perry, thank you for this interview.
Do you often or never listen to The Cure cd's ? which one do you prefer, and
which one do you like the least ?
See you soon in France we hope !

P: I DON;T REALLY NEED TO LISTEN TO THEM, I'M PLAYING THEN ALL THE TIME - BUT ITS
GOOD TO HEAR THE ORIGINAL VERSION
OCCASIONALLY..

vivi:
Hi Perry!
How do you not get distracted by your neighbour's dancing and to avoid being hit
in the head by his bass on stage? i watched you two at
the black session in paris last october and at some point he almost knocked you
out!
Thanks for answering our questions!

P: I'M USED TO IT - WE KNOW EACH OTHERS WAYS - IT'S A CAREFULLY PLANNED THING...

biboul:
Hi perry
Thank 's a lot to give us time
I know the Cure signed a deal for 3 album
Please tell me that you'll do another one soon (not in 4 year..)

P: I HOPE IT'S SOON AS WELL! BUT DON'T COUNT ON IT...

Bernie:
Hello Perry !
Lots of very interesting questions have already been asked, so is there a
special thing you would like to say or talk about (and nobody asked
you here) ?
Thank you for your kindness, and thank you quite simply ... You’re Simply
Elegant !!!
see you soon!

P: I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE GIVEN SO MUCH INSPIRATION TO THE
THE BAND/TO ROBERT BUT WHO MIGHT NOT
EVER GET MENTIONED OR ACKNOWLEDGED.

Cleo:
Hi Perry!! Soo kind and cool we can actually ask you questions!! Much & more
thanks!
So.. I guess I'll ask my questions
* What was the funniest thing the band ever experienced?
* Are you still in touch with old Cure-members?
Thanks!! Much love, peace, & happyness, Cleo
*hint* Don't forget Holland on a *possible* new tour!!

P: I SEE PORL SOMETIMES -HE HAS LOVELY CHILDREN ( WATCH OUT
FOR TOD THOMPSON - NEW GUITAR HERO).
HOW CAN I REMEMBER THE FUNNIEST THING? I DON'T REMEMBER WHERE
I WAS YESTERDAY...

flytox:
Hi mr Bamonte !
What are the band(s) or guitarist who gave you the desire of playing guitar ?
thx a lot

P: JIMI HENDRIX, DAVID BOWIE, MARC BOLAN,

Anniversary:
Hello Perry.
Don't you think the the song "disintegration" sounds better when Robert plays it
with his 6 strings bass like during the prayer tour? The
ENTREAT version is so good.
Thank you very much.

P: YES!

LVG:
Hi Perry
What memories do you have about you guys recording in the Jean Costa studio, in
Draguignan, Var in 1986? Will you go bak there one day
to record some demos?
Thanks!

P: IT WAS A LOVELY, HAPPY TIME, I WOULD LOVE TO VISIT ONE DAY. JUST FOR
MEMORIES...

Armelito:
What's the best concert you've ever seen? (non-Cure of course)
Keep doing the good work with your band

P: RADIOHEAD IN NIMES LAST SUMMER

TINTINmanu:
Please perry, play Lament in concert! Tell Robert!

P: OK!

Super Pato:
Hi Perry!
What would you think about the idea of making a new album with lyrics that would
have been written by the fans? Do you have any ideas
about what the next album will be like?
Thanks a lot!

P: ALL SEND IN YOUR WORDS NOW - IT'S WORTH A TRY - IT MIGHT MEAN WE MAKE AN ALBUM
IN LESS THAN FOUR YEARS...

lolo:
Hello Perry
I just wanted to know:is it you we can see,in the doorway,on the Tokyo video
84(Live in Japan)????
Thanks a lot again and be quickly back on stage in France...hum,Bordeaux??????

P: YES, IT'S ME - AH, JAPAN...

riske:
what inspired you to choose to become a bandmember of the cure, and discontinue
roady work?

P: I CAN'T SAY I WAS INSPIRED! SOMEONE LEFT - THEY ASKED ME TO JOIN.
I THOUGH IT WOULD ONLY BE FOR ONE YEAR. ...HALF A LIFE LATER...
We are Still Here... Perry

smif;
Hello Perry,
Can you tell us about your very first Cure show as a Cure member ? Where and when was it, and do you have any special memories about
it ?

P: YES, I REMEMBER MY FIRST CONCERT OF COURSE -IT WAS IN PARIS, A FREE CONCERT,
GIVEN EVERY YEAR IN PLACE DE LA REPUBIQUE
AND THE MAIN PERFORMER ONLY ANNOUNCED A FEW HOURS BEFORE THE SHOW.
MY HOTEL WAS OVERLOOKING THE SQUARE WHERE THEY WERE BUILDING THE STAGE DURING
THE DAY. I SPENT ALL DAY IN
MY ROOM, THINKING IT WAS LIKE BEING A PRISONER WATCHING THE GUILLOTINE BEING
MADE. THEN I HEARD MY NAME ON
MTV AS THEY ANNOUNCED THE CONCERT AND SAYING THE BAND HAD A NEW KEYBOARD
PLAYER.
THEN IT WAS SHOWTIME - I THINK WE PLAYED ONE AND A HALF HOURS, BUT IT FELT LIKE
20 MINUTES TO ME,
I WAS IN A DAZE, BLASTED BY SOUND AND LIGHT AND PEOPLE AND A MILLION CHANGES OF
SOUNDS ON TWO KEYBOARDS.
IF I SEEM A LIITTLE MORE AT HOME ONSTAGE THESE DAYS, IT'S BECAUSE I AM. BUT THAT
WAS NEARLY 15 YEARS AGO...

Toberr
Will you play before the end of the year in Europe? Do you know when or where? Are you planning to tour in France next year? That will be "normal" gigs or Festival?

P: I'm sure that there are no Concerts this year. I'm sure we will play in Europe
next year but I don't know if it will be out own tour or Festivals, or Curiosa
(I just heard that today, as a rumour!)
It would be nice to play full shows and not just singles - but we will have to
wait and see!

Have a nice Xmas!

Perry
